flyo.it Acceptable Use Policy

flyo.it is a link shortener run by Fly On It Pty Ltd (ABN 55 142 777 599), trading as FLYONIT ("FLYONIT", "we", "us"). This policy explains what you may and may not use flyo.it for. It applies to every short link, QR code and account on flyo.it, and forms part of FLYONIT's Terms of Service. By creating an account or a link you agree to it.

A short link hides where it goes until someone clicks it. That makes shorteners useful, and it also makes them attractive to scammers. People trust a flyo.it link only while flyo.it links are safe, so we enforce this policy strictly.

You must not use flyo.it to link to, or help distribute:

  1. Phishing or fraud. Pages that imitate another person, company or service to obtain passwords, payment details or personal information. Scams, fake giveaways, fake invoices, investment or crypto fraud, and advance-fee schemes.
  2. Malware. Viruses, ransomware, spyware, unwanted software, drive-by downloads, or pages that exploit browser or device vulnerabilities.
  3. Illegal content or activity. Anything unlawful in Australia or where the link is shared. This includes the sale of illegal goods and services, and content that infringes copyright or trade marks.
  4. Child sexual abuse material or the sexualisation of minors. No exceptions. We report it to the relevant authorities.
  5. Sexually explicit content.
  6. Violence, hate and harassment. Threats, incitement to violence, terrorist or violent extremist content, hate speech targeting people for who they are, harassment or bullying, and publishing someone's private information without consent (doxxing).
  7. Spam. Links sent in unsolicited bulk email, SMS or messages, including any breach of the Spam Act 2003 (Cth), or links posted in bulk to comment sections, forums or social networks.
  8. Impersonation. Pretending to be FLYONIT, one of its brands, or any other person or organisation. This includes choosing a slug designed to mislead, such as a bank's name.

You must not misuse the service:

  1. Hide a destination from security tools. Don't cloak, redirect through chains of shorteners, or change a link's destination after it has been checked, in order to reach harmful content.
  2. Get around our limits. Don't create multiple accounts, automate account or link creation, or otherwise evade the free-plan limits or a suspension.
  3. Attack or overload flyo.it. Don't probe, scan or test the security of the service, flood it with traffic, or interfere with other users. Security researchers are welcome to report issues to mahesh@flyonit.com instead.
  4. Track people unlawfully. flyo.it shows you aggregate click statistics. Don't use it to identify or monitor individuals in a way that breaks privacy law, and tell people about tracking where the law requires it.

Your responsibilities

  • You are responsible for every link you create and for what it points to, including if the destination changes after you create the link.
  • Keep your account secure. Tell us at mahesh@flyonit.com if you think someone else is using it.
  • If a link you share is disabled, don't recreate it elsewhere on flyo.it.

How we enforce this policy

  • We automatically check destinations against Google's lists of unsafe sites when a link is created or changed, and regularly afterwards.
  • We review reports from the public.
  • If we believe a link breaks this policy, we may disable it immediately and without notice. A disabled link shows visitors a page saying it was removed for breaking this policy.
  • For serious or repeated breaches, we may suspend or close your account and disable all of its links.
  • We may keep records of disabled links and suspended accounts to prevent further abuse, and may share information with law enforcement where required or permitted by law.
  • Enforcement is at our discretion. Not acting on one breach doesn't mean we accept it.

Reporting a link

If you see a flyo.it link being used for anything above, report it at flyo.it/report or email mahesh@flyonit.com. You don't need an account. Reports about links owned by FLYONIT's own brands are welcome too.

Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If you keep using flyo.it after a change, you accept the updated policy.
